Originally from the charming village of Ballydehob, West Cork, John always had an eye for new markets and territories. This curiosity led him to complete a BA in French and German then to add to his formal education with a Postgraduate Diploma in Technical Communications.
Despite his passion for horse racing (he never missed studying the form at Cheltenham each season) he also found time to fine tune his superb skills in lean methodologies. He has now built up an impressive 14 years' experience in consulting and training in instructional design and the development of distance, on-line and instructor-led learning programs through a number of key product development roles held within leading learning solutions providers.
One long haul flight across the Atlantic later and John is now VP of North American Operations and Business Development. He is responsible for managing Leading Edge Group’s consulting and training team, while supporting client training, education and facilitation engagements across Canada and the USA. Working closely with each of our accrediting institutes and universities, John ensures that their program requirements and standards are consistently met and maintained.
As engagement partner for our client base in North America, John supports a wide range of organizations including major public and private healthcare authorities, acute/non-acute hospitals and facilities, medical diagnostic, supply chain, retail and public sector government organizations.
His work within the healthcare sector has enabled John to develop a broad understanding of the issues and multi-stakeholder perspectives that exist across the continuum of care and related support services. He works with four of the six healthcare authorities in British Columbia, Canada to support the development of internal Lean capacity through managing the ongoing delivery of our Lean Healthcare training, certification and consulting programs.
In his spare time, John loves nothing more than hitting the road with his beloved road bike. It is also a great way to explore his adopted hometown of Toronto!
