National Postal Service: Lean Transform

Leading Edge Group developed a plan to allow the client to manage increased peak demand. Lean principles were deployed including value stream design mapping, standard work and demand/capacity modelling to identify inefficiencies and allow operating units to align capacity in advance. This resulted in:

  • A doubling in parcel volumes
  • Sustainable culture of continuous improvement
  • 100% increase in parcel volume during peak demand
  • 25% increase in productivity across their parcel hubs
  • Financial savings in excess of €17m over an 8-year period
