Who is it for?

Alberta employers that need to develop productivity related skills within their workforce through approved third party training.

The grant applies to organizations of any size and sector that want employees to build stronger process, operational, technical or digital capabilities. It supports both existing staff and newly hired previously unemployed Albertans.

CAPG is intended for employers improving day to day operations, refining workflows or equipping teams with skills that contribute to productivity and role readiness.

What is provided?

The program provides cost sharing for eligible external training:

  • Covers up to 50% of training costs (maximum $5,000 per employed trainee per year).
  • Covers up to 75% of costs when training an unemployed Albertan (maximum $10,000 per trainee per year).
  • Employers may access up to $100,000 in funding per fiscal year.
