Environmental Consultant and Engineer

Paul is an experienced Environmental Consultant and Engineer with Leading Edge Group and a key member of our environmental and energy consultancy team.

He is also an experienced energy engineer and he worked as an energy engineer for two of the largest industrial manufacturing sites in Ireland, where he led a multidisciplinary team in reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions through the full lifecycle delivery of energy conservation measures, from opportunity identification and feasibility assessment through to implementation and verification. This hands-on experience has equipped him with deep technical knowledge and a practical understanding of energy project delivery at all scales and complexities.

In his environmental consultancy Paul works with a wide range of SMEs, delivering energy audits, carbon footprint assessments (including Scope 1, 2, and introductory Scope 3 reviews) and  supporting the development of climate action strategies tailored to the operational and financial realities of Irish businesses. He has extensive experience in energy management, regulatory compliance, and the development of decarbonisation roadmaps aligned with SEAI and national climate goals.

Paul is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), accredited by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). He is a graduate of Sustainable Energy Engineering at Waterford Institute of Technology and also holds a Specialist Certificate in Data Analysis. His qualifications in Energy Efficient Design (EED) have supported the development of advanced energy models to guide capital projects, process upgrades, and site expansions.

He has also successfully implemented and maintained ISO 50001- certified Energy Management Systems in large industrial settings and has a strong track record of integrating energy and carbon reduction goals into broader corporate sustainability strategies.
