Why this program?

After completing this program, learners will have demonstrated the capability to lead the design and implementation of healthcare quality, safety and experience improvements and initiatives in partnership with patients and families.

Who is this program for?

This program is intended for healthcare professionals interested in improving their knowledge and skills in actively engaging patients, families and staff in healthcare service delivery and improvement. Anyone, at any role level and working in any part of the continuum of care would benefit from this program. This program is suitable for people who are looking to progress their career to roles in patient engagement, or those simply wanting to add to their current capabilities in a clinical or clinical support role. The audience may include:

  • Healthcare providers (nursing, allied health, physicians)
  • Clinical leaders and educators
  • Quality improvement and patient safety specialists
  • Healthcare program or service managers
  • Anyone else interested in leading engagement and experience initiatives, or the improvement of quality and safety of care

Assessment

Students must achieve an overall grade of 70% to pass this program. The final project will be a summative, applied assessment of learning throughout the program.
