This program is intended for healthcare professionals interested in improving their knowledge and skills in actively engaging patients, families and staff in healthcare service delivery and improvement. Anyone, at any role level and working in any part of the continuum of care would benefit from this program. This program is suitable for people who are looking to progress their career to roles in patient engagement, or those simply wanting to add to their current capabilities in a clinical or clinical support role. The audience may include:

  • Healthcare providers (nursing, allied health, physicians)
  • Clinical leaders and educators
  • Quality improvement and patient safety specialists
  • Healthcare program or service managers
  • Anyone else interested in leading engagement and experience initiatives, or the improvement of quality and safety of care

Developed and delivered by our partner CHA Learning, the People-Centred Care Leadership Certificate program will enable healthcare professionals at all levels to lead healthcare change and improvement in partnership with patients, families and providers.

  • Course Content: There are three courses and a final project
  • Program/Contact Hours: Approximately 120 hours of learning, to be completed within 12 months
  • Completion Timeframe: Up to twelve (12) months
  • Assessment and Certification: Students must achieve an overall grade of 70% to pass this program. The final project will be a summative, applied assessment of learning throughout the program.

Course 3: Applications of People-Centred Care
Course 4: Applied Final Project

In the final project, learners will apply the knowledge, skills, and abilities they have developed throughout the program in a final project, where they will actively lead and partner with patients, families, providers and stakeholders in a small-scale change or improvement.
