The Lean Healthcare Yellow Belt program teaches healthcare professionals at all levels how to identify and address inefficiencies in processes and apply principles of Lean management to improve outcomes within a well-defined scope.

This program is aimed at health professionals who are aims to become more advanced in the world of lean; such as Quality Administrators, Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Laboratory Technologists and Program Managers from organizations across the health sector including hospitals, health authorities, mental health and addictions, youth services, long term care, public and community health.

Samuel Alara

Samuel is an experienced healthcare quality improvement and strategy specialist, coach, trainer and facilitator; with a deep knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, strategic planning, change and project management. He is an American Society for Quality (ASQ) certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a certified Lean Leader with a masters (MPH) degree in Public Health. This program can be delivered through self-paced e-Learning or instructor-led (for groups of participants).

  • Program/Contact Hours: Approximately 16 hours
  • Completion Timeframe: Up to two (2) months
  • Prerequisites: None
  • Reading List/Textbook: No textbook required. All materials will be provided online, including recommended readings.
  • Assessment and Certification: Assessment is based on completing a multiple-choice exam online.
