National Postal Service : Delivery of a Lean Transform Program with a focus on Operational Excellence
The objective of the program was to create and sustain Lean culture & behaviours within the organization and to manage the increased peak demand the company was facing.
As part of the program delivery, Leading Edge Group deployed Lean principles such as:
- Value stream design mapping
- Standard work and demand/capacity modelling to identify inefficiencies
and allow operating units to align capacity in advance.
The program allowed operating units to align capacity in advance of peak demand and results in the processing of double parcel volumes. There was a 100% increase in parcel volume during peak demand and a 25% increase in productivity across their parcel hubs
